TABOR, Or Not TABOR?

One of the many contacts I made at the Black Forest Festival on August 9th, was a gentleman by the name of Michael Shealy (he goes by Mikey), who later emailed me some questions regarding TABOR. Since TABOR is such a hot topic these days, a nebulus enigma to most people, and in fact has created the need for additional legislation that will appear on November's ballot, I thought it would be a good idea to post his questions and my response. You might want to grab a cup or glass of something first, it's not short. (I received Michael Shealy's permission to publish his question.)

A Good Day at the Black Forest Festival and Parade

The Black Forest Festival and parade, held on August 9th, was probably the most surprising and successful event of this campaign season. The whopping cost of $15 to have a booth was by far the best bang for the buck of any event (even the free ones)! I shook many a receptive voter's hand as I walked along the parade route. Volunteers manned a well-located booth while I strolled among festival goers, meeting scores of Black Forest residents. (More)

Progressives Enter Monument's July 4th Parade In Force

Progressive ideals are beginning to take a foothold in House District 20, and one of the biggest testaments to that fact is evidenced in 2008's annual July 4th parade in the town of Monument.

In 2006 I'm fairly certain I was the only Democratic candidate to have ever walked in the parade. It was an odd experience in that I was greeted by many stony glares, some scattered boos, and more than a few cheers that raised my spirits.
